US factory orders for November 1.6% versus 1.5% estimate

  • shipments increased 0.7% versus 2.0% in October
  • unfilled orders is up 10 consecutive months after a 0.7% increase (up 0.3% in October)
  • unfilled orders to shipments ratio was 6.78 up from 6.77 in October
  • inventories are up 17 the last 18 months after a 0.7% increase in November. October inventories rose 0.9%
  • inventory to shipments ratio was 1.46 unchanged from last month
  • durable goods orders 2.6% versus 2.5% preliminary. The gain in October was at 0.1%
  • durable goods ex defense 2.0% versus 2.0% preliminary
  • durable goods ex transportation 0.9% versus 0.8% preliminary
  • durable goods nondefense capital expenditures ex air 0.0% vs -0.1% preliminary
  • durable goods shipments increased 0.7%, unchanged from the preliminary. In October the gain was 1.7%
  • factory orders have been up 18 the last 19 months
  • shipments have also been up 18 the last 19 months
  • durable goods have been up six the last seven months
